Conky has been an enthusiast for years of anything tough/funky/driving/breaky. Born and bred in the musical hub of Dublin City, Conky has always been able to produce the goods. From an early age, he has always had an ear for anything with a decent break, and in 2002-2004 played drum and bass in The Metropolitan a few times and helped run Studio B, an underground jungle/drum’n'bass night. Soon he got a name for himself for delivering a fresh sound that strayed from the norm, but never in a bad way… Always played nu-skool/party breaks,tech-funk,house and techno but only out and about at house-paties around Dublin. After 15 months of travelling the globe and absorbing the different styles and trends from the other side of the globe,he decided to give the breaks/tech another go, full-on and aimed straight at the dance floor. Expect basslines bigger than you can shake a stick at and kicks that’s blow the pants off ; Conky always has a few surprises up his sleeve… Since early 2007, Conky and Giles have been playing out as sKetchKraft…one on one breaks/house fusion….each and every gig has been a success, our first one was Family @ Wax (unfortunately is no more though),where we headlines to a full house.

Myself and a few lads from one of the forums have set up an internet radio station – and I’ve been doing a few sets in the evenings. Just a bit of a laugh, nothing serious, but its great fun to get online and have a mix and chat wtih the listeners etc – and hear their favourite tunes too

]]>Always a lover of music, Ross fell into DJing in 2003 after getting a discount pair of turntables and a handmedown stack of records from a friend who was clearing out his unwanted garbage. He immediately fell in love with the concept, but, unfortunately, the turntables were belt drive and the records were trance. After inheriting his kind cousin’s old collection of deep house records, he locked himself in his room with a shiney new pair of 1210s to escape in incessant ginger abuse until it was time to go to college. Here he helped set up and organised UL’s DJ Society and their weekly club night PHONO in Trinity Rooms. He has since gone on to have a residency at SHOCK! in Trinity Rooms, played a handful of club gigs around the country, banged out a few large tunes at Planet Love ‘07 and let loose some of the mucky filth that was played to the hippies in the fields at Life ‘08. Ross can be found regularly in the Underground @ Baker’s Place for Micronite on Saturday nights and Shakin’ Tackey on a Friday.
These days he’s trying to play a comfortable blend of what’s techy, what’s deep and what’s fun. You might catch him playing Mike Monday, Minilogue, Jesse Rose, Format B, Ame, Carl Craig, Ripperton, Sasse, Gui Boratto, Jeff Bennett, Plasmik, some Catz ‘n Dogz and maybe a little bit of Scandinavian hardcore death metal….. Back in March 2006 Electronic Ireland Boss Mike McCoy discovered a new Djing talent in the form of Paudi Ahern, while having won 3 dj comps in (Tralee, Limerick & Cork), he still remained under the radar for a time. Ever since E.I. have been pushing to display his skills and unreal technical ability all over Ireland, where he has gone on to guest in numerous clubs around the country. After spending some time in Cork he helped setup and run the Schmutzig night providing House, Techno & Electro to the masses. Since then he has moved operations to Dublin where he is studying and Djing, Paudi’s sets encompass mostly Techno & Electro sometimes of the darker variety mixed up with loops, scratching, fast paced mixing and whatever else springs to mind. Whilst still based in Dublin Paudi has just started a new monthly in Tralee called Technicolour with fellow local Djs Cj Fitz & Kevin O’Shea, which has just had their first guest Christian Smith with more big names to come, watch this space!

Minimal Techno is, I think, a very misunderstood genre. Since I started delving into the world of Minimal, I’ve got completely enthralled in it and really haven’t been listening to anything else over the past few months. My first minimal type mix – Minimalistic - focused on the more upbeat, bouncy – funky type tunes. This is a little different, it starts off quite deep and dark and goes off in a few different directions after that, but focuses on the more dirty & driving side of what I’m into right now.

“Nov/Dec last year was when I last recorded and pimped around a mix so it’s about time and I got a new one together and here it is. This mix is on more of an overall deep tech tip than my last one and starts of with one of my fav tunes of last year by Trentemoller (dig the gorgeous vocals so much) before sliding into some really groovy deep/minimal house & techno. The last third of the mix cranks up into serious deep, chuggy and occasionally twisted minimal techno with plenty of ooomph!
